Tonight after sundown, Don and I went to Jeff and Willow's to pick up the last hive. Originally we had set up two hives there after Denise and I moved out of Issaquah. Over the winter, one hive died, sadly, but the other survived. I'm quite surprised, actually. I hadn't tended to them at all and they seem to have done just perfectly!
The dead hive we had taken back, cleaned up and set on a new block up at Lake Forest Park. It's currently full of a new hive of bees. This last hive at Jeff's had to be moved at night when the bees are all inside. Unfortunately, neither Don nor I brought any of our bee gear, so we had to be very careful. It was a little dicey carrying the heavy hive to his truck!
We made it to Greg's in Lake Forest Park without incident, thankfully. And now the third hive is at its home, safe and sound. Now we just have to hope for real spring weather instead of the snow we've been having for the last week.
